AF 17-35mm F2.8-4 EX HSM
|
|
Description: "Sigma's 17-35mm F2.8-4
EX is one of several new EX Series lenses. It combines a fast
F2.8-4 maximum aperture with ultra wide angle zoom lens of 17-35mm.
It incorporates aspherical lens elements in the front, as well
as rear lens groups, to correct spherical aberration. It also
incorporates internal focusing to prevent deterioration of the
optical quality at close distances and to eliminate rotation of
the front barrel during focusing. A "perfect hood" is provided.
The AF drive for Sigma SA and Canon S.L.R. cameras is equipped
with a silent, responsive and fast Micro Hyper Sonic Motor (H.S.M.).
The lens materials used in this new lens are lead and arsenic
free ecological glass. "1

Description: "It features a fast,
constant maximum aperture of F2.8 and covers the popular focal
length range of 28mm wide angle to 70mm mid-range telephoto. Two
aspherical elements help maintain its high optical performance
throughout its zoom and focus ranges. It is the world's smallest
zoom lens in this category, just 3.9" in length. A minimum focusing
distance of just 15.7 inches, at all focal lengths, also gives
it the world's shortest close focusing capability. The 28-70mm
F2.8 EX is equipped with a perfect hood and incorporates helical
focusing to eliminate front lens barrel rotation during focusing,
for added convenience when using polarizing filters. "1

28-70mm f/2.8 EX Aspherical DF
|
|
Description: "SIGMA
28-70mm F2.8 EX ASPHERICAL DF is one of several EX-Series lenses
to be introduced at Photokina 2000 by Sigma Corporation of Japan
(2-13-15, Iwado-Minami, Komae-shi, Tokyo). It combines a fast,
constant F2.8 maximum aperture with a popular range of focal lengths
from 28mm wide-angle to 70mm medium range telephoto with an upgraded
design. It is the world's smallest 28-70mm F2.8 zoom lens. The
lens also incorporates a dual focus mechanism. It is easy to hold
the lens, since the focusing ring does not rotate during auto-focusing
and yet provides adequate focusing torque of the focusing ring
during manual focusing of the lens. Helical focus system of the
lens eliminates front lens rotation, thus allowing the use of
a Perfect Hood and easy to use polarizing filters. It incorporates
2 aspherical lenses in the front and rear lens groups, provides
high performance and superior optical quality. Minimum focusing
distance is 40cm/15.7inches at all focal lengths. SIGMA 28-70mm
F2.8 EX ASPHERICAL DF is equipped with a Perfect Hood to prevent
extraneous harmful light for image quality. The lens materials
used in this new lens are lead and arsenic free ecological glass.

Description: "This new generation
of compact standard zoom lens retains the same 1:2 (Half Lifesize)
Tele-macro capabilities of its predecessor. However, it incorporates
a Helical Focusing system for convenient use of polarizing or
graduated filters. This also allows a "Perfect Hood" (supplied)
to be used. This lens also utilizes a new optical design, and
a "flare-cut" aperture, providing even better optical performance.
And a convenient "Depth Scale" is displayed on the lens barrel
to help calculate Depth-of-Field. This is the most desirable lens
in the 28-80mm category. Corresponding AF Mount: Sigma, Canon,

28-105mm f/2.8-4.0 Aspherical

|
Description:" This f/2.8 lens sets
a new standard for all zooms. Its unusually large maximum aperture
is made possible by an extra-wide aspherical lens to provide higher
optical performance in a number of ways … including effective
anti-flare features and crisp-to-the-edge images. An internal
focusing mechanism allows the front of the lens to remain stationary
and to easily accommodate specialty filters, such as polarizing
filters. Sigma's original 4-group zoom mechanism keeps size and
weight to a minimum while fully correcting astigmatism and distortion.
Its wide range and convenience make it perfect for snapshots and
great travel photos. "1

Description: "Sigma Corporation is
proud to announce the availability of the latest generation of
compact standard zoom lenses, the 28-105mm f/3.8-5.6 UC III. This
new lens builds upon its predecessors (models UC and UC II), offering
the same focal length range (28mm to 105mm), and focusing range
(19.7 inches to infinity, at all zoom settings) and providing
a slightly larger effective aperture (f/3.8-5.6), while reducing
the weight to less than 10 oz. A new lens design, including the
use of aspherical optics and new mechanical construction, are
credited with the reduction in weight, while maintaining the high
level of performance for which these lenses are known. This model
retains the internal focusing system and a non-rotating front
barrel for convenient filter use.

Description: "Sigma's
28-200mm F3.5-5.6 DL Aspherical Hyperzoom Macro is one of several
new Sigma lenses. It incorporates one Aspherical Lens in the rear
lens group and the one Special Low Dispersion (SLD) glass element
in the front lens group. This high magnification zoom lens covers
focal lengths from 28mm wide angle to 200mm telephoto, with closeup
capability. It incorporates special internal focusing to enable
it to focus as close as 19.7 inches (50cm) from film plane to
subject, at all focal lengths (an optional accessory 72mm close-up
lens allows even closer focusing and greater reproduction ratios),
and to simplify the use of polarizing filters. A detachable "perfect

28-300mm F3.5-6.3 DL Aspherical IF Hyperzoom
|
|
Description: "This new Hyperzoom provides
a tremendous range of focal lengths (a 10.7:1 ratio), providing
exceptional flexibility of composition, and allowing one to follow
the movement of a subject throughout a wide range, without having
to miss great shots while changing lenses. By utilizing a multi-group
zoom cam system, this lens maintains a more consistently high
level of performance throughout the focal length and focusing
ranges. It also allows this lens to focus closer in the critical
wide-angle ranges, than other zoom lenses in this focal length
category. This Hyperzoom also provides high optical performance
due to the use of Special Low Dispersion (SLD) and Aspherical
Glass. It offers excellent portability because of its compact
design, and since the front lens barrel does not rotate during
focusing or zooming, the use of polarizing and graduated filters,
and of a "perfect hood" to minimize flare, is greatly simplified.
For many photographers, this is truly a universal lens.
